It's been a long, hot summer and I've been working at my day job (busy real estate agent) and moonlighting as an artist.  The first job allows me to load up on art supplies and pay for a few trips here and there.  I've got my art gear down to a minimum, so I'm ready to grab and go if a painting opportunity comes up and I can be set up and painting in seconds. Here's the tiny little box I use and you can see that I'm in a somewhat precarious place.  (A rocking boat in Baffin Bay)  

The 8 X 10 painting here is called "Red Neck Saturday Night" because I literally stood in the back of our pick up truck and grabbed this quick sunset. (10 minutes till sun was gone).  The support for the painting was an old envelope I had in my gear bag.  What fun!

So, " keep it simple"--that's my motto--a few pastels, a few sheets of paper, a lightweight tripod and some bug spray--I'm ready to roll almost any time. Speed painting makes us all better artists.  Get out and get going!
